Windows Mobile 8

Do your windows updates work on the tablet ? Had an issue with forever pending apps that would not download even when leaving the laptop on working connection for overnight, can't remember steps exactly but you can search "troubleshoot problems with windows updates" you should get the option under control panel, run it and it may work for you

WinRT is awesome, and a much nicer OS to use than Android and iOS IMO. The downside is lack of apps, but that will solve itself in time.

It's not so bad, it's running all the enterprise apps quite nicely. Better than an android tab.
I have office 365 with outlook and office.
It's quite cool, sometimes you forget it's a tablet pc and not a laptop, but you reminded with lack of storage.

Fully concur with these statements by adding - No compatibility issues in the business sphere.
The Android boys do have compatibility issues - seen to many pain and tears as many are "Locked Into" contracts to back out.

I must say that I am enjoying my Windows Experience so far. There were a few times in the first week where I looked at my Android on my desk and thought about it, but after you start to get used to it , it is great. Few minor issues so far:

1) There is no quick scroll in the Apps menu. With android you can press along the edge of the screen and go straight to that letter.
2) Whatsapp Push Notification Error. I don't know if that is the phone (Samsung Ativ S) or crappy CellC though.
3) You never really know which apps are going to rotate when you flip to landscape, but I'm sure this will improve with time.
4) Has anyone found a Tube Dwnloadr that actually downloads for free?

The Sync thing will take a bit of getting used to, but once gmail, facebook etc is set up, the Windows UI provides quite a holistic solution, especially the "People" Tile which syncs with your FB contact pictures. My only concern is how much data this will consume in a month.

Some really great apps so far. 9gag, MangaCamera, MemeLens, Imagefusion spring to mind.

Welcome to Windows Phone!

Actually there are two very easy ways to find your apps. After swiping left and you see the list of apps:

1. Click the magnifying glass and then start typing any letters within the name of the app. The list of apps matching the criteria will be, well, listed. The more you type, the shorter the list.

2. Once you reach a certain number of apps (40?), the apps will be sorted alphabetically. Press a letter and you will be taken directly to all the apps starting with that letter.

I have posted this separately, but if anyone has a need for Outlook sync with Windows Phone 8 via USB, Companionlink has recently released an app for that. Think of professionals working far afield, or even in the city where 3G sometimes is weak.
