Not sure if I started a thread like this before.

Im still struggling to download apps from the WM Store.
I keep getting the error "cannot download error 0x80248014"
Ive tried Google but the solutions are still not working.

This for the Samsung Ativ.

the WM Store.

Dude, whats that?

Windows Phone Store?

If it is that, perhaps the servers for the store are down for the moment. In which case, keep trying.

However, I've just done an update successfully, so perhaps the problem is on the device.

The store is working fine for me.
Have you tried turning your phone off and on? Do you have wifi? Worst case scenario you could reset the device (from settings->about) which will return it to factory defaults.

And as mentioned, Windows Mobile 8 does not exist. Neither does the Windows Mobile store.

This might sound stupid but have you checked that your date settings are still correct. Back when my L920 used to "reset itself" on a regular basis that would sometimes happen.

Not exactly a helpful answer.

@OP: You aren't the only one it seems.

Not sure if any of those steps mentioned might help you out.

Yip, tried those solutions, still receiving the error.

Lol the app store for Windows 8?
I get the same error on wifi and through the internet connection which works fine.

Date settings on Harare, Pretoria with correct time and date stamp.

Are you trying over 3G or Wifi?

*damn you posted the answer right before I posted this question and didn't see it*

It could be as simple as your phone not being Internet ready yet.

Can you open the Internet from your phone i.e. have you browsed the Internet from your phone yet, since it seems like you've only had your phone for a few days.

Perhaps you need to make sure that your phone's Internet is working well first i.e. settings from network (Vodacom/MTN/Cell C) installed etc.

I assume you are talking about Windows Phone because you posted in the Windows Phone section.
But maybe you are talking about the Windows Ativ tablet - which is a completely different thing.
You really need to specify.
Does the device fit in your pocket?

Just thought this is the windows section and it's a mobile laptop tablet device.
My Internet connection is fine, I'm able to access the Internet via the preloaded apps, can browse the Internet, access and browse the store but not download apps.

I was able to download chrome browser through googles homepage and the twitter app from twitters homepage but nothing from the store.

Sorry it's the Samsung Ativ tablet pc, GT500 I think.

Have you signed in to the store with your Microsoft account?

Thanks for clarifying the type of device

It could be the account sign in as @grim points out

Let us know

Yip
The MS account is accepting my credentials on the email and Social media app, no error regarding the username and password.
Ive asked our Telecoms account manager for the their Microsoft contact for more info, hopefully he can sort it out.

I still dont understand the windows tabs. The only benefits that they could offer(i.e proper enterprise feaatures) as an advantage over ios/android they dont have.

WinRT is awesome, and a much nicer OS to use than Android and iOS IMO. The downside is lack of apps, but that will solve itself in time.

It's not so bad, it's running all the enterprise apps quite nicely. Better than an android tab.
I have office 365 with outlook and office.
It's quite cool, sometimes you forget it's a tablet pc and not a laptop, but you reminded with lack of storage.
