Windows Phone is dead: reports

As nice as it is to have competition in the mobile space, it is a real uphill struggle to enter in to an over saturated market where you have 2 extremely viable operating systems already. Firefox phone failed, Blackberry got wiped out and now even MS is doomed.

What killed it? The app markets. With no real interest from app developers for the Windows OS market, the phones are already dead out of the door. No apps mean no users and no users means no app developers. It's a vicious cycle. This kills the Windows Phone.

Nooit, I'm so bored with Android and iOS, was considering one for my next upgrade. The Continuum vibe also looked quite interesting.

Congratulation M$FT you infected Nokia and you killed it. Job done.

Windows 10 Mobile isn't dead. The Lumia 650 is the last Windows Phone to be made.

Your statement about apps is true but I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of apps on the Windows Phone. I could find pretty much all the important apps and it works well. I think the phone is underrated and squeezed out of the market by iOS and Andriod. I had a Lumia 640 which I have since passed on to my dad.

I'm not entirely sure that Windows Phone is dead... yes its struggling along right now, but I think possibly Windows Phone 10 will reinvigorate some sales. I would also be very wary of thinking MS will kill it off, its a key component of their strategy so they may be prepared to take a few years hit to get what they want.

There were dead because M$FT convinced them that their platform was the future.

You may want to actually go and research a bit of the history of Nokia and what happened to the company. Its downfall was not Microsofts fault at all but their own.

Pity if only they could get it spot on.
Because I still today struggle with MS Office and syncing with Android - Business wise in any event.

I have to see competition fall away it's not good for the end user so hopefully it doesn't
