Ok so this is how the story goes...
I had my one 1TB [DRIVE A] drive plugged in, but wanted to insert my other 1TB [DRIVE B] drive, so I hibernated Windows XP, instead of shutting down.
I put the other 1TB drive [DRIVE B] in the removed one's place [DRIVE A].
So I boot up the pc, and left it unattended for a couple of seconds....
When I got back, I saw the scandisk at boot, deleting files and relinking.. It happened so fast and I could only see the words Orphaned, Deleting and relinking or something like that.
So I let the machine boot into Windows and checked out the drive.
windows changed the name of the volume [DRIVE B] to the name of the first drive [DRIVE A].
I had a look to see if all my files are still intact. All the folders are there, all the files... except some of the files had been corrupted and the filesize is now a couple of KB's, where that same file was like 3-4gigs.
What do I do now. I haven't touched the drive again. Do I run data recovery software? Is there a way to undo the scandisk?
