Hi guys

I have a server running windows server 2003, every now and again i loose the shares and my guys at work can get into the share folder but there is no files like before??

Does anyone have an idea why?

Because it should be a linux server?
Windows even hates its own existance and from time to time tries to kill itself.
:p

Sounds like someone is either deleting the share or changing the user permissions. If this happens you can loose the files in the shared folders. Have a look in the logs to see if there is a problem.

the users dont have full controlbut it still seems to do it, i have looked all over the WEB and tried everything, very strange

It has to be someone that has the wrong permissions. Server 2003's sharing is very stable and have never picked up something like this.

Somebody deleted it? Make the share permissions "Allow All", and then set NTFS permissions to the required level.
