Windows shuts down but case stays on issue...

Funny enough, I installed the 1803 which has never given me any troubles...haven't checked if it updated to 1903.
You think it has something to do with that?
Saw an older Dell laptop with a similar issue. Happend with a previous windows update when you are using uefi instead of legacy mode in the bios.
Found no solution for it except for switching to legacy mode (have to re-install when changing) . Bios is up to date etc.

Check your modem settings, internal & outboard.
A couple of years ago, my PC used to start by itself,
Wake Up on Modem, or something like that, caused the problem
Sorry, it was some time ago, & gthats all I can remember about it.
Had a similar issue way back but it was still in the dial up days iirc.

Exactly the problem I had.

EDIT: And laptop is aging but not that old.

PC switches off and on normally now....did a Bios update flash afterwards just to be safe.
Can it maybe be how my Windows update times are set that the PC switched on by itself?

Cause I saw there was an update pending and after the update it was running fine.

But in any case thank you for all the replies and help.

You need to reboot the whole thing with reopen the case and put out CMOS battery from everything else here and then do just that with it in place, it should allow to reboot BIOS/UEFI settings that way and all will work again. But next time do it via Windows.

Work through ALL the power settings in WIN 10 and look for anything that will cause the PC to start up by itself. Check any remote startup settings.

Highly unlikely that your power cord is the issue. Check for Bios updates? Perhaps its a Bios issue.
