Good day. I've got a weird problem with my computer. let me explain. Last week i turned on my pc and it had an error code and blue screen then it reboots and it stays in that loop.
1. So I ran scan but it came back with errors.
2. Then i installed my harddrive in my 2nd pc and scanned it in windows but also comming back with errors.
3. so tried to backup my files but could only retrieve about half the rest was corrupted.( i thought it could be bad sectors)
4. I then tried to format but it wouldn't.
5. I then did a low level format ( succeeded)
6. Then i ran seatool and scanned the drive (it passed everything)
7. I then partitioned and formatted the drive
8. Then installed xp
but when it restarted i got this error \windows\system32\config\system is corrupt or missing

I reformatted the drive and tried again but again the same problem.
Please can someone help

I think that drive is really fscked. Had the same thing the other day and turns out the drive had bad sectors on it...

But after format i had no bad sectors. and using Seagate tools it picked up no problems. How can i check if its got bad sectors

Buy a new one. What happens is that you format it (probably takes hours), and it marks all the bad sectors. Then by the time you install the OS, there are more bad sectors. This loop will carry on until your disk has nothing but bad sectors ;)

running a chkdsk will tell you how many bad sectors there is on the drive, but I agree with Conradl on this one.

Can it be anything else except the harddrive? like memory or cpu?
