I had 2 x 1GB DDR2 667 (Corsair) installed in my machine and the rating was 5.6

Today I added 2 x 1GB DDR2 667 (Hynix) modules now the rating shows 5.5

Why is that?

You didn't specify the CAS values for the different modules in your post....?

Vista doesn't rate on the amount of memory I think. Probably on ram speed so ram timings will influence the benchmark :)

CPUz try that wil show you RAM make/CAS/Speed and all the rest :D

Check the timings.
Highly doubt the hynix will be the same as the corsair

Definitely sounds like differences in latency/timings here. I suspect the hynix is choking your system.

You shud get a higher rating IMO. Even tho the Hynix speed is a little slower. More ram = better performance, that's obvious.

I know my 800MHz Mushkin 2x1GB @ 5-5-5-12 gets 5.9...667 with 5-5-5-?15? timings would probably get 5.5ish.

Using all 4 slots on the mobo probably forced T2 command rate? Using 4 slots is known to cut down bandwidth slightly. It could also be CL4 vs CL5 RAM timings, check all that with CPU-z.

The Vista rating (and any other memory bandwidth benchamrks) will rate the RAM slightly slower because it is. There is of course more of it, and that will probably make a bigger difference if you ever use it all.

Still I think that Vista Performance thingy is broken :p
