Windows Vista RC1 available

hehe, now u understand my dilemma EHV. Doesnt anybody feel like writing me a DVD will come pick it up. In JHB... Unless i manage to get it from MS directly. will see how things work out.

ok guys im a bit confused...: im thinking of dloading vista, but dont know which to get.
i have an amd 64 x2 4400, so i want to use the 64 bit OS....

is the x86 version the 32bit, and the x64 version the 64bit one?

why call the 32 bt one x86?

is the 64bit one generally more faster or what

The 64 bit version has issues with software and detecting hardware so I would say go with the 32 bit version

Stay away from the 64 Bit one for now.

They tested it the other day and the guy had a terrible time getting any current software to install on it.

Yes x86 = 32 bit.

It's worth downloading. It is alot faster than beta 2 and thing that didn't work in beta 2 just work on RC1.

Being playing on Vista Beta 2 version at a MS Vista touchdown course this week. Much more stable than Beta 1 - so the RC1 must be great.

Yeah from what I've heard RC1 is a huge improvement over Beta 2. I'm just burning the DVD now and i'm going to give it a go

Um no. Everytime I open a folder with DivX clips it crashes. Just like WinXP used to do right in the beginning.

Otherwise very nice. Lots to see and play with. Even the games are fun

WinXP still does that with some poeple and codec combinations. Infact, are you shure it isnt your codecs that are corrupt?

Wouldnt more peopel have picked up on this, has anyone else had the same thign? I would nt really like to install it if thats the case.
