Windows xp pro internet problem

If you're "sure" the software connect and appear operational then,

In Firefox go to Tools/Options/Advanced under the Network tab. Select No Proxy.
In IE I think it's Tools/Options (or Settings?), Connections tab. Fiddle about till it look OK.

I don't think you need to do the above unless you made changes there before. It could also be DNS settings somewhere.

I recall something from years ago: Always use the same USB port. Mine used to install the software with each new port used (that might have been my paranoid/strict security settings back in my Windows days). I use Ubuntu and a phone if I'm away from home nowadays, with no problems ever (was fed up with my E220).

Something else to remember/consider once you're connected and all is good - the more power your device have the better the signal. I used to have a long USB cable (with extra power USB connector), but a short high quality one works better (based on a Netgear WIFI device I currently use - or no extension cables even better). The E220 was temperamental and I always had to remove and connect it correctly (according to XP safe remove etc).

Slow speeds but 3.6mbps?

I've solved the avgnsx.errors by disabling link scanner in avg anti-viris.The vmc 9.4.8 just keeps the connection longer then vmc lite and more stable.Y are the download speeds so slow 200kbps on hsdpa i only once got high speed at 2.8mbps,how
do i get faster speeds.

When will vodacom reach full 3.6mbps speed?

The full Vodacom network of BTS's is already 7.2 capable...some towers are currently 14.4 capable and I believe 21 is being worked on....with LTE in the pipeline.

Speed depends on what your tower is capable of, what your modem is capable of, what backhaul is available to the tower, weather conditions, your proximity to the tower and of course, how many users are on that tower and data traffic currently moving through that tower.

K3565 hauwei disconnection problems

Is it normal for my k3565 hauwei modem to disconnect most of the time, with phone as modem it never disconnects.I think its the firmware and where can i download latest k3565 drivers which might solve this disconnection problems.

Make sure your Dashboard is set to force the modem to use 3G mode only. This normally sorts it out if the signal not the greatest for 3G.

How do i force the dashboard to use 3g only coz it jumps from 3g to hsdpa vicer versa.

You will need to go into "settings" of your dashboard. Then look for something that says "Network Settings". There you select "3G" or "UMTS" only.

Not sure exactly where it is anymore....have not used VMC for ages as its not available for Linux.

Cant find that network settings.Where can i download the latest mobile partner software.

If the connection keeps switching between GPRS and 3G
– (Windows) Click ‘Manage Devices’, select your device, click edit and
then select a different network preference on the Network Preference
tab page, eg. ‘3G Only’
– (Mac) Start Vodafone Mobile Connect, and select one of the other
options in the lower part of the main window

This should be in the manual supplied with your modem also.

Usb device in hub port?

What port number can i set my 3g modem coz some port numbers have better speeds.

As ocleroux mentioned earlier, try disabling autorun on the modem's virtual CD-ROM drive letter, or just remove the drive letter altogether, this should stop the vmclite installer from running when you insert the modem.

Instructions here.

Make sure you are in an area that has HSDPA coverage and try to boost your signal strength with an external antenna.
where can i download a fast download manager coz i download big files with firefox and it fails to completely download the file.
I use DownThemAll!, it creates multiple connections to the server which I believe is the only way to get >3.6Mbps on Vodacom.

External extenna

Where can i buy a one for beta signal how much would it cost.
