How do i change the font of windows xp.

The font that it uses is almost everything, i find it very skinny and on a 22" it hurts my eyes.

Display Properties

Play around with Font size there..
or click Advanced to go further and change the fonts to what you want.

dammit Gary, go to bed or something .......... always posting 1st :p:D

ClearType is enabled on Windows Vista by default if I remember the rumors correctly.

Yes, and strangely although it looks k@k in xp, in vista it actually looks better (on the same monitor) go figure.

I can't say that I ever noticed the difference to be honest. Probably just didn't pay attention :D

Just looks blurred in xp. But with vista and aero, it looks good. I guess as MS intended. There's lots of people who hate it and turn it off (which I do when running xp). I guess it just renders better under aero.

As good a guess as any, I'd imagine :)

I also disable it in Windows XP to be honest (or rather, I don't enable it) :o

but you can tune it to the setting you like....

it is customisable, use the link I gave.

Errm the difference between cleartype and no cleartype on an lcd is huge.

Anyone who can honestly say they prefer cleartype off must have 20/20 eye-sight.

It's horrible with it off.
