Winner Winner Braai'd Chicken Dinner

Pre-cooking your chicken won't "make it stringy" unless you overcook it, in which case it doesn't matter how you pre-cooked it. I prefer to pre-cook the birds if I'm doing spatchcock chicken as the pieces cook at different temperatures, so I consider the braai to be the final grill for flavour.

I usually cook them in a marinade on medium strength in a microwave. Continue to check on the doneness. Just before the chicken is cooked, I remove it and let the residual heat cook it through.

Remember that cooking liquid will never prevent a bird from drying out - the moisture will be pushed out of the bird regardless of whether it is submerged in liquid or not - just don't overcook it...

Have you ever injected marinade into chicken?

Make a quick marinade:

500ml coke
Fruit chutney
Tomato sauce
Worcester sauce
Lemon juice
Salt and pepper
Tablespoon oil

Mix the chicken pieces with the marinade (a zip lock bag works well for this).

Put in bowl and cover (not airtight but just to prevent splatter) and shove in the microwave for 15 - 20 minutes.

Braai them. Enjoy.

Will have 2 use iron brew instead of coke :D ok must we put all the marinade with the chicken in the microwave?

Ok this is what I did

Iron brew
peach chutney
salt & pepper
1 bottle of chilli sauce
peri peri marinade

Will let you know what it tastes like later :D

geesh, give the man a change to have a couple of 'doppe' :p

PS: it has always been my believe that people that precook their chicken, does not know how to braai chicken

Still cooking, don't have a microwave dish big enough for all the pieces so braaing it

Ok it actually tasted nice, did not taste the chilli though, probably burnt off on the braai.
