Her ex-husband Nelson Mandela who I, along with most of the world, revere, as well as the majority of the ANC cadre (now the government of South Africa) also advocated/perpetrated violence and terror when all other means failed. Canada (Conservative & Liberal) saw them as freedom fighters...What has changed? As to the reason for now condemning her errors in judgement I am puzzled...Do we not accept the concept of 'collateral damage' ...think of the innocent Iraqis, Afghans etc. who we are quite happy to see die/harmed/disrupted/corrupted while 'we bring them their freedoms'... ??? Why then does this government deny her a visa at this late stage??...A clear deviation from previous policy...She visited Canada post the 1985 'necklacing speech' when South Africa achieved majority rule in 1994.

There are ofcourse as many, if not more shouting from the oppisite corner but you get the jist of the irony of her rejected visa.

Tell that to Stompie, while Winnie is considered by some, the mother of the nation, to many more her reputation and 'respect' is based on intimidation and fear - ask anyone who lived in Soweto at the time of the Football Club, this is of course not common knowledge to people outside our borders

Applause to Canada. I'm doing business with a company in Canada and it makes me proud that a country like that does not have to look good for the media, but at least stand their ground against criminals. Great job Canada!
