wireless connection problem

Hi

I just installed windows xp on my laptop. It originally had windows vista.

So my wifi now doesnt pick up any connections anymore? and the wifi router is like 30 cm away from the laptop..

Does anyone know the problem is? Im using the LAN connection now...

I have a Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter

What service pack are you running? And is you router perhaps using security settings that are unsupported by your wireless NIC driver and/or service pack?

Make sure WZC (Windows Zero Configuration) under services is started & set on Auto
