Hi,
Recently received a new Mecer wireless router from Cybersmart.
I am having a problem connecting wirelessly.
My Laptop picks up the connection, but after putting in the password. its says cannot connect.
I never had this problem wotht he previous router..
The model no of Router: E5104N2

Cybersmart kep saying they do not support wirelss internet
and that really sucks!!!

Any help?

Let's just be clear on one thing - The connection between your laptop and the access point has nothing to do with Cybersmart.

By "password", do you mean your ADSL password, or your WPA2/WEP password?

Try the following configuration:
Once logged into the routers interface (192.168.1.1) select interface setup-Wireless-

Access point settings Channel 11,
beacon interval 100
RTS/CTS threshold 2347,
Fragmentation threshold 2346, DTIM 1,
802.11b/g 802.11b+g...

Multiple SSID's settings SSID index 1, SSID: (however you wish to identify/name your router),
Authentication type WPA2-PSK...

WPA-PSK settings, Encryption TKIP, Preshared key (Your password)

WDS Mode: Disabled WDS Encryption type TKIP....

Click on save once down and don't forget to thank me... :p

I don't see all those fileds in that interface.
here is all that it shows:

Wireless Advanced Settings
These settings are only for more technically advanced users who have a sufficient knowledge about wireless LAN. These settings should not be changed unless you know what effect the changes will have on your Access Point.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Authentication Type: Open System Shared Key Auto
Fragment Threshold: (256-2346)
RTS Threshold: (0-2347)
Beacon Interval: (20-1024 ms)
Data Rate: Auto1M2M5.5M11M6M9M12M18M24M36M48M54MMCS0MCS1MCS2MCS3MCS4MCS5MCS6MCS7MCS8MCS9MCS10MCS11MCS12MCS13MCS14MCS15
Preamble Type: Long Preamble Short Preamble
Broadcast SSID: Enabled Disabled
Relay Blocking: Enabled Disabled
Ethernet to Wireless Blocking: Enabled Disabled
Aggregation: Enabled Disabled
Short GI: Enabled Disabled

???
I need more help before I thank you..:)

You tell me?
I would normally put in the ADSL Password and it would connect..

you know, normally you wouldn't fiddle with all those settings, defaults work fine. just set the SSID, encryption and the password and then make sure your computer has the same. If you're using XP, its known not to connect automatically even if you put in the correct password. If you go to the "view available wireless networks" page, click on the link on the left that says something about set order (or preference) of wireless networks, and then manually create your connection there with all the correct settings. that helps sometimes....

Are you aware there is an ADSL password (which should be entered in the router) as well as a security password, which needs to be entered on each device connected to the wireless router.

I suspect you don't really know enough to fix this yourself.

Sorted out!

Thanx everyone,
The problem was that Cybersmart gave me the wrong WIRELESS login password.
!!

Sorry for all the fuss..:(
