With regard to you unanswered questions. We manage to fund the network in much the same way as the WUG. By begging for money from the community and other institutions who want to contribute to our cause.
With regard to our expertise. Apart from the three members of the team (currently connected to PTAWUG), there are a host of other people and institutions providing us with the knowledge and support we need to get something like this off the ground.
As for your question about "why". We have the exclusive purpose to promote and develop the educational service in South Africa, starting in Pretoria. We do not intend to run the network in the same way as the WUG. Although some of the services on the network does overlap the services offered on the WUG, the services on our network will be used exclusively for educational purposes by students, teachers and researcher.
Since connecting our main educational company's internet cafe's with ADSL is expensive and absurdly counter productive, we decide to use wireless technology to do so. We do not intent to be competition for the WUG since we do not have the same goals or objectives. We will focus on developing the education system in South Africa, making education free and also more accessible to the millions of poor people that do not have the luxury of simply going to varsity.
I hope this answers your questions. Now pleas answer mine ...
Am I understanding correctly. If we continue with this project, PTAWUG will see this as being "against their constitution" and will kick us off the network?
If so, please explain to me(and the other readers of this forum) how developing a network that has got noting to do with the WUG but only use the same wireless technology is against the WUG's constitution. None of us has damaged the wug in any way and no of us intend to. Please explain.
