Wireless in Mac Mini G4

Hi guys,

Just wondering, the optional Airport card for the G4 Mac Mini - is this a mini-PCI card?

I have an atheros based mini-PCI wireless card (which has OSX drivers available), I'd like to use that if I can.

I take it that you're referring to the 1.25GHz Mac mini as all the others came with airport extreme cards. To be honest - I'm not sure - have a look http://www.macworld.com/weblogs/editors/2005/01/miniopen/

Thanks - I got my answer there: "no" :-(

On one of the pictures, item "T" is the connector, and it's definitely not mini-PCI

I guess your cheapest alternative will be an external one? Those airport cards are listed on zastore's site for R459.00.

bwana : No, only the top Mac Mini came out with Airport and SuperDrive. This changed about 3 weeks after I got mine. Typical luck

With only two USB ports? If I add the price of a cheapy USB hub (Just paid R175 for a Mecer) I can just as well get the Airport card....
