Wireless Keyboard, mouse combo.

so whats a good bluetooth keyboard + mouse setup?

I've never tried the keyboard on the MX5500. I am impressed by the mouse, the MX Revolution, which I've been wanting in bluetooth form to replace my MX1000 on my bluetooth dinovo set. Didn't want more dongles, just wanted to swap the mouse out. However, Logitech in all their wisdom decided not to offer it on its own. This is the only place where do the MX Revolution as bluetooth. :(

I eventually gave up and went for the MX1100R which is not bluetooth.

Right now I'm sitting with 3 wireless dongles on my machine. One for the MX1100R mouse, one for the dinovo for notebooks, and the bluetooth item for the dinovo media desktop set which currently only means the keyboard section. That's 3 USB ports gone when it should only have used 1. :P

Microsoft also offer some bluetooth keyboards/mouse, but I've never tried them.

If anyone wants to get rid of a bluetooth MX Revolution mouse, let me know. :)

wow mx5500 is a tad on the pricey side.. 1.5k for a keyboard n mouse?? Im getting a blu-ray writer for that price!

Hence the reason I didn't buy the whole thing for just the bluetooth mouse.

Alot of the Logitech price is for the brand name, but they do make very good stuff.

Any cheaper stuff in the bluetooth desktop market? Nothing by sinotec? :)

Razer make a bluetooth mouse. Microsoft have some bluetooth gear. Not sure of others. Wouldn't want a "cheap" bluetooth kit anyway.

N that 5500 revolution wont work for me cos im left handed :( im sure microsoft must have made a bluetooth desktop?

I'm personally using a Logitech Cordless Wave combo.. and loving it.. its great.

Thinking about getting one for work as well.

4m... bluetooth will do that. I find BT goes much further than these normal wireless things.

That MS 7000 is sweet. Just no complaints about the cramped keyboard layout as it is a media keyboard which looks just perfect. :)

checked it out on the ms site, looks cool, n no funny exclusive to right handers mouse problems there.. Price is a bit better, will probably give it a deeper look..

I got an EX110 a while back. Very nasty. Not as nasty as the Microsoft Wireless Desktop I bought some time before that though (you had to spin the scroll wheel to wake up the mouse every time you used it - horrible, horrible, horrible).

The mouse on the EX110 has the noisiest scroll wheel in computing history. I was worried I was going to wake the kids with it. Sometimes you just don't want to draw attention to yourself while surfing the net.

More recently I got a Logitech Cordless 1500 Desktop (+-R500) which had an okay keyboard, but a great, solid, meaty mouse, with recharging cradle.

Since then I've got the Logitech illuminated keyboard, which has gradually turned me into the Salad Fingers of computer keyboards. "You hold a welcoming texture... a treat for the finger tips..." :wtf:

The transparent edge of the illuminated keyboard matches the transparent edge of my Samsung T260 monitor beautifully. Its like they were made for each other.

So u saying the microsoft one is no good? Is the illuminated keyboard wireless?

MSFT keyboards are good, it's just the entry level ones that you will have problems with and the 7000 is in no way entry level. No, the illuminated keyboard is not wireless.
