So i know alot of you people have wireless networks setup.

I have 3 pc's on a wireless network. One is rather far away and only gets 11 - 22 % signal strength. I get no packet lost at all.
What I want to know, is there any program that will allow streaming to be better and copying files across the network better. (currently windows media player plays files better than vlc player)

Copying and streaming can only go as fast as your connection. I would look into getting a directional antenna, which may improve your connection and thus the transfer rate

afaik, windows media player buffers the song before playing it, VLC can be setup to do the same. By steaming you mean clicking on a shared file across the network to play it? cause can windows media player be setup to stream? i know it can play the streams. afaik windows media encoder you can setup streaming, and not windows media player.

ps. VLC rox....

If there is enough bandwidth on your link then you can "stream" the file with something like Mplayer

start copying/downloading the file and then run in Mplayer

How "far away" is the system with 11 - 22% Signal? What type of equipment are you using for your wireless network? Perhaps we can assist to improve your signal, and speeds.....

ok so all of this has answered my question, there currently exits no file sharing program optimized for wireless networks.

senao 54mb AP/BRIDGE 15 dbi omni connects to senao 11mb AP/BRIDGE 13dbi flat panel. distance 200meters. (lots of stuff in the way, no LOS)
