Hi all and thank you for your help.
A couple of weeks ago we had a close encounter when we were burgled. Fortunately they only broke the burglar bars but did not enter; while we were sleeping. Fortunately the alarm scared them.
This made me realise that should my computer when backup drive next to it were stolen, I would have lost a lot of irreplaceable data and almost 21 500 photos.
I did some research and found "Network Attached Storage" to be the solution, BUT, this box must not be close to the computer.
I don't have a lot of money to spend on something like this and was looking at something like this:
http://www.comx-computers.co.za/EH-...-4Tb-Gigabit-NAS-USB2-0-expan-Buy-p-55690.php
I need it to be RAID 1 which, if I am correct, makes a drive hot-swappable should there be a problem with one of the drives. It looks like wireless is a better solution than wired since the cable leaves a trace which can be followed.
I will need all the advise from people who have experience in NAS and their recommendations.
Thank you so long.
