Wireless network keeps dropping

I'm running a billion wireless router with 2 pc's on the network both with windows xp sp2.My pc has a Dlink dwa 110 wireless g usb adaptor and every 20min or so it drops and reconnects,has been working fine for the last 2months(hardly dropping at all) and it's becoming a real hassle when I'm dropped from online games.The signal strength is very good and the other pc with a pci Dlink card never drops.I can't put a card in my pc as I get no signal then.

There is no other wireless network near as iv used netstumbler to search.I don't want to resort to running a 20m lan cable from my pc to the router to have a stable connection.I'v tried different channels,static ip's etc but makes no difference.802.1X authentication is not enabled.
Any suggestions?

I haven't had that problem b4, but if the one card sticks & the other drops then it def points to that card. I know dlink has some advanced features like signal boost (got some fancy name though). Only thing i can think of is to go to device manager & compare the properties of the two card (specifically all the items in the advanced tab). Maybe try switching anything that doesn't seem essential off. Hell, then try switching every thing you can off one at a time. You can't break it, maybe just write down what the settings are before you start changin...

I've even disabled the other card to see if it makes a difference but alas nothing.This evening however I have no had any drops,I'v tried another dlink usb wireless a while back but it had the same issues...I'm really stumped.Will give your advice a go though.

Does the USB adaptor work fine on the other machine? Might be a software/hardware issue if a pci card does not work in your pc.

PCI card works fine on my machine but he signal = low but I have thick wall by the box which pwns the signal so I just put the USB adaptor by the window above the box and signal = very good.
