Wireless networking between 2 routers

hi all

sjoe i need some help with wireless networking pls pls psl. I have 2 locations 300 meter apart, I have a Telkom mega 105WR on the one site and a D-link DI524 on the other side. the telkom router supports WDS but sure the D-Link doesnt. Can any one please help with this i am really dont know what to do to make the 2 locations to c each other. I have 2x omni 7,5DBi ext arials mounted out side (meduim gain and there is perfect line of sight. what do i need\get to make this work?

I'm personally not sure those omni's are gonna cut it with the type of routers driving them. Will grids even help?

make the 2 routers connect right next to each other then add a DIRECTIONAL antenna to each AP and you will have a great connection. for 300m try an 8db patch or even a 12db yagi

So it looks like 1. I have the wrong antenna's 2. I have the Telkom 105 setup with WDS bridging and using WEP with a secret key. I am all new to this and playing around with settings on each router so i am pretty much left in a hole :'(. All i really need for now is it possible to connect the (D-link DI524 and the telkom 105WR) routers wirelessly, if so i basically need some one to help me figure out a way what settings to change on each router and what settings need to be left alone. Thanks a mil for all the feed back i think i am moving closer to solve this puzzle. O ja one more thing "skydog" do i only need one end a 8db patch/12db yagi antenna or both ends?

would be advisable to have a patch on each side.

take off the WEP to start with. once you have a connection between the two routers configure WPA.
sorry i cant help to much with the setup as i dont know the routers.
does the telkom one have an option to put it in client mode? (or the dlink) then you connect to the other AP that will be in normal AP mode.

As far as I know DI-524 only works in AP mode, and won't connect to another router.

I suggest getting a Linksys WRT54GL. Then load dd-wrt onto it and run it as a Universal Repeater (or set up WDS).
