Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me some ideas to troubleshoot a problem I'm having with a Mega 100WR wireless router.

Currently the device is connected to a PC using a UTP cable it works 100%

I want to eliminate the need for cables & have installed a Zyxel wireless PCI card, the wireless network is set-up with no encryption, the OS I'm using is XP,
the wireless network is found via the view wireless networks option in XP. However when I try connect to the network all it does is say that it is connecting & never connects.

I have picked up the network on my phone & it will not connect through that route either saying the WAN is not found after identifying the SSID.

Any Ideas ??

We need some more information:

1) Are you able to ping your router? At command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
Code:
ping 10.0.0.2
If you are able to ping, then you are connected to the network.
2) Are you creating the PPPoE (Internet) connection with the router, or the PC; i.e. is the modem creating your Internet connection or is Windows ?
3) What are your DNS settings? At command prompt:
Code:
ipconfig /all

Well it went fairly smoothly 2nd time around rather confusing but anyway it worked out without a hitch. I just removed the whole MAC address scenario, added in some 128bit encryption & assigned the DNS settings for Internet access ;)

@ tau1z - I believe it was channel 11

@ sn3rd - The LAN works 100% it's a PPPoE configuration ;)

Thanks for the responses, all sorted now !!!
