Hey guys,

Looking for suggestions on wireless routers as follows. We currently use a TP-Link MR-3420 (old version) since we started with using 3G in our office but since moved to ADSL. Lately we facing some mixed experience with the router - everyone can connect but only some get internet access and others don't. I get a feeling that the router is overwhelmed. (if that makes any sense?)

So I am looking for a wireless router with the following characteristics:
- 300Mbps+
- OpenWrt/DDWrt compatible
- Optional USB for 3G modem use
- Optional dual WAN (depends on price - suggestions welcome)

Any suggestions?

Maybe rather invest in getting a small Mikrotik RouterBoard to do routing and provide the gateway to the TP-Link wireless router.
That way you remove the routing strain from a small office product (MR3420).

I need to go this route. if the boy is on his phone he steals the wifi before it reaches me in the room :(

How many people connect to the router? If it's not that many, just give everyone their own reserved fixed IP address. I have three routers in my home, two of which extend wifi, and had major issues with IP addresses (the routers were set up correctly btw). I then put all the phones, tablets and laptops on fixed IP addresses (desktop PC's are wired) and the problems disappeared.

its flippen frustrating at the moment. its the same devices that's connecting so fixed IP's make sense. will try.

It's about 10 people, with 2 devices each and then 2 printers on fixed ip. So I guess it does make sense that the router itself is overloaded! Any reason why the Mikrotik was suggested? Is it well known for handling many clients well?
