Please help - trying to connect a Linksys WRT54GL Wireless Router so that wireless laptops can connect to the network:-

Some background on my network:-
- All desktop pc’s work off Windows 7
- I have a Netgear ADSL Modem/Router with default factory IP address 192.168.0.1
- My current 7 desktop pc’s have dedicated IP addresses ranging from 192.168.0.131 through to 192.168.0.137
- My Printer’s IP address is 192.168.0.255
- All of the above works 100%

Wireless Setup:-
- I’ve connected my Linksys Router to the Server Desktop via a Network Card 2 (NW2 - installed) with default IP address of 192.168.137.1 (setup this way so that the Server Desktop is used as a Gateway to the network (for allocating IP addresses etc. to the wireless laptops etc)
- I’ve enabled Network Sharing on the Server Desktop Network Card 1 (NW1 – onboard motherboard port)

Problem:-
- I cannot enter the Linksys Routers WRT54GL settings to change the “Basic” and “Advanced Routing” settings (to personalise the Linksys settings for Gateway access)
- When I type in on the Browser Bar – http://192.168.1.1 it comes up and says “Cannot Display Page” (the “192.168.1.1” is the Linksys default factory IP Address)
- I've also tried using the installation CD and it also comes up saying that the Linksys Router cannot be found
- When connecting a wireless laptop, I have a network connection but no internet access

Questions:-
1. How do I get to access the Linksys Router to “personalize” your settings?
2. I’m not sure if we get 1. above right , if there’ll be other questions ... have to wait and see

Any of you boffins out there that can shed some light and how to access the Linksys WRT54GL Router?

Cheers

To connect to your linksys, you will need to change your desktop ip temporarily to be in the same range: say 192.168.1.2
Also: I suggest you change the printer address as 255 is the broadcast address.

Quick question: Why do you want to connect the linksys to the desktop and not to the modem/router?

I suggest you change it so that the modem/router connect to the linksys, and then from the linksys to the rest.
