HI guys,

I don't know if this is the correct place to be posting this but here goes. My telephone connection ( I have the old "diana" type plug with which I use a converter) has a loose connection somewhere and I need to sort this out. Is this something that I should get a techie in to do or should I give it a bash myself ? If so does any1 know where I can get a proper wiring diagram from ? Also if I need to call a techie where can I get a hold of a private one cos telkom take forever to send someone out.

Thanks

I get some crackling noise on the line if the telephone extension cable is moved around

Do it yourself. There are only 2 wires used - they'll be in the right places, just tighten them up, strip, etc if you see fit.

Calling a tech out to do that is simply a waste.

The two outside contacts are the line (red and green) normally they crackle when dirty, they are normally nickel plated, try cleaning them by rubbing the black bits with a two Rand coin
