Am on a search for a amd athlon x2 processor but witch one is the best value for money?? i know that the 6000 X2 is the best one on the market. but it is priced @ R2200 same price u can get a intel E6700 and i know that there is no comparison.Between the 2 processors.and that the X2 6000+ is not worth the price.

Please help.
Thx

You should not pay more than R1950 for the 6000+, and the 4200+ should cost about R900. But if i were you, i would get the new Core 2 e4500 (R1500), these cpu's run at 2.2 Ghz (200 x 11) with a 800mhz fsb, meaning the bus is 200mhz. If you push this bus up to 266 you will have 1066 fsb and your cpu wil be running at 2.9Ghz, no voltage increases or extra cooling is required, and it runs rock solid with temps of around 37 degrees.

Frag is right, it should not cost you more than R1600.

And you can get a Biostar motherboard for it for R650 and have a kick ass system. My Biostar has taken my 3800+ x2 (around R700) to 2.5GHz without a hastle, I must still try to push is higher.

get a quadcore for 2.4k much better and not that much more

intel q6600 FTW

3800X wont go more than 2.5 search it on google

I bought my pc less then a year ago.I don't have the money now to go for intel:( motherboard and processor. I know they are better atm.
So plz give a amd x2 option.PLZ

Thx for all the help:P

Do you have a socket 939 motherboard or a socket 940 (AM2) ?
If you do have AM2, then I suggest you get something from 6000+ and up. No use going for the lower processors. Like all the other guys said.
