Witchfest 2015

5000 camping tickets, not sure how many day passes they make available but I'm pretty sure they will make good money from this, and rightfully so, that's a sick lineup.

Also, 5000 * R1350 = you do the math.

I'm sure it also costs good money to bring that good lineup this way - bands + equipment + travel = very expensive

Venue had to change again...

Well as always you need to be ready to roll with the punches.

Witchfest Festival was dealt another blow (non lethal) this past week.

It appears the forgiving and accepting nature of the Hartebeespoort christian community is on holiday. They have been harassing the venue / Farmers to the point that we were told, either your fork out 3million and buy the farm or leave.

Well we have left....

Now for the GOOD NEWS.

We have secured a new Venue in the Lanseria area. This means we will offer a free shuttle service from Lanseria Airport to the new venue.

There are accommodation options available. With a shuttle service.(3min from airport)

CAMPING is still available.

ALL TICKETS are still valid.

By next week Thursday the new artwork and ad campaigns will begin with the new venue details.

ANYONE who had booked or made plans down Hartebeespoort side, please email us and we will assist to get you set up this side. [email protected]

We have decided to announce new venue next week, that way it is not part of this specific topic.

They will try, but they will always fail.......

WITCHFEST IS COMING..

Nothing you can do about that...

Yea, glad they got sorted...wonder how many times this is gonna happen. ffs, some people...

It is worrying that they keep having to change venues...

It's the nature of big festivals unfortunately.
I have organised a party that had to change venues the same evening.
We had to shuttle ppl from the old venue to the new and escort cars to the new venue all night.

I don't know of any big festivals that have had 3 big venue changes in such a short space of time.

I'm starting to get the impression that WDR have bitten off a bit more than they can chew.

You need to take into account the type of music and the crowd it will draw.
It's the same with Trance Parties.
Ppl are afraid of the things they don't understand.
This for all intensive purposes could seem like a Satanic gathering.
Just saying.

It isn't one, we all know this but that doesn't mean ppl will try their best to stop it from occuring or at the very least put loads of hurdles in the way.

I'm well aware of this - but I would think that they would make sure that venue is locked down and solid before forging forward with announcing it to the public.

And in my opinion that should include gauging the sentiments of the local puritans...

You can pay massive deposits for venues but still have them fall through.
These things happen.
Even if lawyers are involved, this does not mean venues can't fall through.

Once again I know - but 3 venues in about as many months - doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the people involved with organising this.

You know it's not quite their fault that South-Africa is full of uptight conservative aholes.

I'd really like some clarity on the venue before I book my tickets.

Seems only a set small amount of people are allowed to camp at this new venue of theirs.
