Withdrawals from ICASA Hearings

Whoever thought that the SNO will actually strive to be a reputable company that really cares about the consumer is sorely mistaken...it's really sad. I might just join Person in NYC one of these days..

The ad that DSTV runs for the golf coverage sposored by Telkom Business seems very apt. For those who haven't seen it, it portrays the worlds top golfers as a bunch of Mafiosos.
 
This is unfortunate... Very regretable indeed. Whatever resolution that comes out of this will have to be binding on all players.
 
Good for them! Its a statement against Telkoms bully tactics... Though it will probably fall on on deaf/stupid/greedy ears.
 
This is GOOD, don't need vodacom supporting Telkoms claims. SNO.. well not sure, they don't wanna get into a price war and i assume they don't want to be regulated, so a slight loss there since they will be able to provide ADSL service if LLU happens. Sentech.. Oh well that means less cheerleaders for Telkom YaY!!
 
how can we take any efforts from the SNO or any other "competition" against telkom seriously, if they wont even participate with ICASA.. We all know ICASA cant actually do anything to Telkom, as proven by past experiences, but solidarity against the monopoly should be maintained.. if ICASA ever does get any real power, they wont like the SNO anyway, cos it is obvious that the SNO doesnt really respect ICASA..
 
I suppose government having a financial interest in each company is purely coincidental?

This hearing is a waste of time. They have done the right thing .Why play games ? .
 
Telkom are big and ugly (and most certainly rich) enough to stand there all by themselves. Its a lonely position that will become increasingly more frequent for them in the future.
They dictate the cost of telecoms and bandwidth which impacts directly on all the fraudband products and prices in some way or form. Let the lepers stand alone, its what they bloody well deserve.

Lets also hear why the others decided not to participate as well. Strange that they all pulled out at once, together and at the last minute though.

Don't you think that if this was some kind of government/anti-ICASA conspiracy, then Telkom would have pulled out months ago?

Just a thought...
 
The SNO and Telkom most probably already have a secret agreement in place on how to continue the r@pe of the SA consumer. Why should they be there when Telkom has already sorted out ICASA through IVY? I don't expect anything good to come through these hearings. It is just a farce to appease the peasants.
 
Tata is doing badly on the Indian stock exchange (as the rest of the market). Not sure the are as eager to invest as before
 
This is smackering of trickery. Theres definitly something foul afoot. I hope our telecoms providers know that we wont back down again. No more hearings after this...
 
Hey, they had their chance to speak today/tomorrow and chose not to. If things dont go their way then tough $hit for them.
