Wits students protest over tuition fee increase

Currently it's something unimaginable to implement but maybe with the right changes in future it could be something worth looking at.

Need to build up the tax base first. Then sort out more important services like healthcare, security, transport.
We don't NEED graduates to build the country, but we do need basics.

Maybe in the future, but the fiscus would have to look fundamentally different for it to even be a possibility, and the rules etc would have to be very strict and it def shouldn't be about poor students, but deserving students.

Academic benchmarks would have to be pushed up sharply, with entrance exams.

Not sure how many from Government schools would even qualify.

Far too much theft in government to afford any 'free' services. Sort out the ANC looting South Africa bankrupt and we'll have more than enough money to offer education, healthcare, basic services too all

In an ideal world education should be free. Unfortunately, this isn't an ideal world. It is a poor developing country.

Thats the guy who broke a students leg.

Don't you think he'd be facing criminal charges and the video made public if that was the case?

My opinion? The peaceful protesters started damaging his car because he was trying to get through, he panicked, felt threatened and may have injured someone trying to get through the mob and this further enraged the peaceful protesters.

People think this piece of paper is going to magically make their lives better. Is there a surprise waiting for them!

Fekken serves that little shyte right for damaging someone elses property.

The cops just standing by is getting a bit annoying though.

When we are done with ‪#‎FeesMustFall‬, we are onto you Vodacom and MTN. Your looting us of data must fall!

:erm:

Enjoyed this one, though:

I would yank up my hand break, chuck idiot over the roof and make some student soup.
Fekker would touch my landy.
( I drive one I know the violent yerk it gives when you pull on the handbrake)
