I remember when MoP just came out, I avoided the queuing to some extent by having Teamviewer installed at home and on my work laptop. Just before I left work at 4pm, I would use it to log on to wow from home. The queue would be around 1.5 hours, and you probably have around 30mins grace to push a button before being disconnected from the game. My travel time from work was at minimum 1 hour, so this worked great for me.
On the other hand, queues seem to be the worst around 6pm to 8pm, with wait times of up to 3 hours on Sylvanas. So, if I didn't log on from work, there would be almost no gaming that evening.

Played the intro quest line last night and was very iimpressed, then once i got to the first main area, the lag and people over quest givers made me swear and i ultimately quit.
Garrisons are completely down for me. Managed to create mines. Now I'm stuck in the Garrison area with no Garrison. Cannot leave the area either as I get automatically teleported back.
Yea, I gave up yesterday evening on getting anything done in my Garrison, and went and did some of the quests in Pandaria I missed the first time around. So at least I'm lvl91 now .. lol
Will only be able to play Sunday afternoon again though, so hopefully by that time the Garrison issues have been sorted out mostly.

I Did read somewhere this morning on the forums it has been fixed with this mornings server maintanance
I cannot see the lag going away any time soon. People wont stop playing suddenly to help the servers. Although after a week or so most of the hype will have gone and people will return playing indiferrent times instead of everyday the whole day
