I like fishing more than the next guy (I own 12 rods.) and in principle I'm with your wife on this one. You shouldn't even be asking to go fishing at this point. Jeez.

(I have the money, but understand she's on maternity leave and what not so yes she has a point. I small one but one none the less).

Phone the friend and tell him I can't because of finances.... He says, no worries, he'll pay even give me money for fuel. I think by myself.... Cool so that's sorted then, will let the wife know.

OMG!

I phone her and she flips..... putting me on a guild trip because I arranged for everything to suite her, but then she throws in all other funny things.

FFS, she could have just said no, she said I can go if I had the cash and what not. Now that it's sorted she still has something to moan about.

Ask her what the real reason is for her not wanting you to go. Maybe its something she really feels strongly about but is ashamed to talk about.

TBH, I think your right. Might as well go since all Punanie is out :D

I might just go for the whole weekend, contemplating it now. She does this every bloody time. Same when I want to go on Bike rallies, it's the same bloody episode with a different script. I'm sick of it now.

But it's a trend I just realized. Always the same thing. She's cross at me for going to a bike rally I paid for out of my own pocket and also have stupid excuses. My friend who is Don Juan Demarko himself, he's wife lets him go with no issues :eek:. But me the loyal old puppy always gets the stiff lip treatment....

I'm sick of it now :(

Not pregnant - gave birth to twins 6-8 weeks ago.

Also, I will be showing this thread to my missus the next time she starts taking me for granted...

She knows by now that she gets what she wants:( She might need some time to reflect... ..But that Is just how I work:D And i do like a good fight.:o

Men are like lions, you can't bring a lion in to the zoo(married men) and then starve it... you leave it no choice but to hunt for it's own food...

a married men is a tamed wild animal, starve him and you leave him no choice...

Under any other circumstances I'd be on your side. I just suggest waiting this one out and when the twins are a bit bigger remind her of the times you sacrificed going fishing for her and cash in for future trips.

This battle is lost no matter what you do.

To her there is no such a thing, I gave up a Rally once before because of this crap and for what? Just to have it happen again. I won't let her win this time round. I'm doing it for my little boy who will enjoy it greatly. She'll get over herself sometime :o
