What more do you want from Vodacom than a statement from their rep? A document signed in Pieter Uys' blood? :)

There are more posts by both Vodacom reps, just did not feel like finding them for you. We'll know soon enough, in any case.

Yes, I can't sign a contract based on some arbitrary post on an internet forum. Unless there's a formal statement or product ad then nothing's really finalised is it? Can't exactly see Vodacom budging if after 12 months they start charging me R350 pm and I say "But this guy posted on mybb..."

Anyway, time to whoosh off to bed knowing that tomorrow my trusty CellC modem will still be working the way it's meant to on a network that delivers what they promised.

How about sorting it out before launching the product? Now there is a novel idea.
Yes, a bit like sorting out your 42M network before launching it? ;)

I'm still waiting for Lars, Ron, MickeyD or any other Cell C employee to answer how many towers they actually have or if the "launch" was just the one tower at the event.

Can I buy a 42M modem tomorrow to use in PE?

Those are fair questions anyone would want to know. Why is Cell C not answering them?

Some more questions posted earlier this week on mybb for the event:

1- How many 42 towers are ACTIVE in the network?
2- Where are they?
3- What is the average speed a user can expect?
4- How big is each footprint of a cell?
6- Do you have 42 modems in stock?
7- Where can I buy them?
8- Will we get new pricing with 42?

Dear Jannie

Jan says all these and more will be answered in a soon to be published MBB article.

When Vodacom sorts out their pricing let us know ;)

Whoooooosh you where here!

Regards

Eventually back home after an awesome Woosh to PE.

My conclusion about 42 Mbps (and its followers: 84; 182; etc) is that its not about delivering faster speeds, its about supplying enough fast bandwidth at the cell edge across all devices. Don't expect cheaper bandwidth, don't expect bigger bundles - its not going to happen by our expectations.

But don't consider 42 Mbps as a white elephant, its the natural progression of 4G and we will see double ups each year on this.

42Mbps DEVICES: Thats the big question from everybody, when can we get them and how much?

Reality is nobody can give you that answer. The devices are scarce and not even clients with serious negotiating powers can get them from either network. Was hoping for one in my goodie bag but no goodie bag (but they compensated with 4 star hotel accommodation and return flights on SAA).

Hello everyone.I am new here. Where can I buy the 5GB package? I had a look at all internet providers and the 5GIG package is best and cheapest for me. Where in PE can I get it though? As far as I understand is a once off payment and not a contract. Correct?
