When printing a document Word seems to remember the last printer printed to and not your default printer.

Anyone know a fix here rather than closing word each time?

Yes, when you press CTRL-P a printer dialog will pop-up. You can choose which printer you want to print to from there.

When you print and say print to another printer, Word remembers that printer and not your default one. I want it to not remember the last printer but my default printer, so i don't need to go Ctrl-P the whole time, it should just print to my default unless I choose another printer manually.

ooooohhhh... lazy fingers I see! :p

add a button to your Word Toolbar for instant print. It bypasses the Print Dialog.

oh... and quit using other printers ... other than the default one! ;)

Let me look into that......other printers = colour one....:)

Instant Print, the one on the Standard toolbar remembers the one you just printed to.

oh bugga! I guess you are stuck with the CTRL-P option then. :)

just don't print to any other printers.... uninstall them if you have to.

Basically Word remembers the last printer printed to unless you close Word and then re-open it again. The user needs to print to colour now and then.

Then tell him to quit being so lazy and to pick the right printer. If the rest of the world can do it then he can! :D

MS should sort something out.

I Googled it... but other than people creating their own Macros... there does not appear to be any other solution that uses less clicks. I agree it is stupid of MS... the default printer should always be offered as the default first. But seriously... once he gets used to it...
1) press CTRL-P,
2) check which printer is listed... and
3) hit enter.

... it will become second nature to him.
