good day people

Im having a problem I've been out of the webdesign for a while and lost my touch.

I messed up the theme and content on the main address and created a new one that works but now I have to type in the address with the folder /wordpress added to the address. what file do I find to rename the adress in the backend with ftp software. I have copied the data over but still not working.

I tried the migratio but its not working.

Move everything out of the /wordpress folder into the root.
Then edit the .htaccess and remove the /wordpress reference.

Once done, if you cant access the wp backend, open the db via phpmyadmin or a db gui, and edit the wp_options table. Look for the site_url and secure_site_url records and again remove the /wordpress reference.

If you can edit the backend, go in and save your permalinks.

I had it installed in the root as well but something went wrong it is now showing a theme that I don't even have installed anymore.
when i log into the backend of the root site with wordpress editor it shows the website and the content there.

ok got it all sorted out. started from scratch.

Now when I open the website it keeps going to a home page that's empty and not my welcome or main page for that matter. its the default hello world page.

I must seem novice but at the moment I feel like it.
it has a custom link att in the wp customize menu location. I think I'm doing something wrong
