A workaround for this problem has been suggested for Windows. Details described at Link 1 & Link 2. Can one try this for linux? If so, how?

Click to expand... Open up a terminal and type 'ping www.google.com', the Linux ping repeats forever so doesn't need the '-n 99999' switch.
