The risk of working without a salary

Naspers chair Koos Bekker said his decision to work without a salary when he was CEO helped him focus on building the value of the company, but he wouldn’t recommend it to everyone.

“I don’t recommend it to everyone, because it’s high risk,” said Bekker, who started his new role as chair in April.

:) he probly looking at some of the current top company CEO's who demand millllions in salary, and thinking "greedy buggers you".
same can be said for some people in government.
but i guess, its an agreement between the company and the person concerned... if everybody's happy, who is it for anybody outside to complain.
except for the people in gov, where we are actually involved, 'volantarily forced' to hand over our tax munny to pay the exhorbitant pay packages, while not having a say in the salary level.... not to mention not seeing the performance that is supposed to go with such big money.

but big up to Koos for his decisions.... old story that more money doesnt make you work harder, or more ethical
