Drastic changes are needed to improve employment equality in the workplace, Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana said on Wednesday.

Mdladlana told journalists the employment equity report, which will be released on Thursday, "really does not look good".

He said the way in which employers sought to address equality in the workplace and how government ensured that need to be tweaked.

"We need do to something dramatic and drastic. If we see people are dragging their feet then we need to give them wheels."

He said it was not only a question of a racial equality but also of empowering the disabled and women.

He said ten years since the first employment equality report government could not continued to hope that things will simple change without transforming the way it approach the situation.

He hopes to increase fines, limit the time given to companies to comply and put the onus on the employer to prove innocence.

"The battle is on. The president (Jacob Zuma) wants us to do things differently, quick and fast.

"It makes one angry because it is almost like we are begging for people to see equality," said Mdladlana.
Education is apparently not the answer, lets put more red tape around business. It is not after all like we need job creation ...

Well government must fast track this, because the sooner its done, the sooner we can get on with our lives and work on merits.

That is the problem. With the current amount of graduates (and their racial ratios), we will never get to a satisfactory outcome that would please government.

Not going to see that in our life time.

You will never see 'equal work equal pay' either.

...the growing unemployment problem has nothing to do with this I suppose?

Rather unemployed than employed with work that isn't "decent", isn't "equitable", isn't "White, isn't...right?

I've stopped giving money to the parking attendants, garage staff, beggars and everyone else. My taxes are now too high, my job as a White young male is unstable, I need to replace what has been stolen, my motoring is too expensive and I'm struggling to survive.

I've cancelled the odd jobs I had for the unemployed guys down the road because I now can't afford it.

Are you seeing the pattern here, Mr. ANC? C*nts.

The battle is on. The president (Jacob Zuma) wants us to do things differently, quick and fast.

I give you the idea how to do things "differently, quicker and faster"....

1) Taxes on WHITE. EVERY WHITE person will pay R100000.00 HEAD Count tax per annual.
2) Taxes on WHITE OWN properties. A WHITE own property, will be taxed R1 mil. per annual.
3) Companies do not allow to employee WHITE people from now.
4) White cannot transfer their money out of the country.

I guarantee, less than one year, WHITE population will drop to less than 1 %. And most of the money in WHITE hands will "transfer" to BLACK hands more "quicker and faster". Employment of BLACK managements will be more than 99%.

You don’t need to do the same way as zim, you can do thing quicker and faster than zim. Do things “LEGALLY”. :D

Trust me, it will work. ;)

PS: White people, if you don't like it, leave! :D (anc told you already!)

"We need do to something dramatic and drastic. If we see people are dragging their feet then we need to give them wheels."

If they see people dragging their feet, they're going to make it easier for those people by giving them wheels? How does this make any sense? It's rewarding people who don't work hard, what an excellent message to send

And that is why Government needs to resolve this issue. They need to make UNISA more accessible to learners as its the only tertiary institution in this country that can serve the masses. I'm currently a UNISA student and registration is a nightmare, fees are insane for what is being offered and the prescribed text books are too costly.

We need more graduates.

UUUMMM, white people will leave with their money.... not leaveit here/hand it over to dumb****s

Screw that, dude. This is home and I'm staying. The ANC can jump in a lake for all I care.

Why make things more difficult?

Just jumpstart job creation - this will cause more people to be employed, thus lessening the need for draconian measures.
