World’s first AMD-only Linux laptop launched

Tuxedo Computers has launched what it calls the “world’s first AMD-only and Linux-preinstalled laptop”.

The device is named the Tuxedo Book BA15, and it powered by the AMD Ruzen 5 3500U mobile chipset.

Both Ubuntu and Tuxedo OS are installed on the system by default, and the included software allows users to perform the Linux distribution of their choice automatically.

Wow....that is NICE! But so expensive. I wish they would then do a more affordable version with lower specs at a much lower price but keep the same body of the laptop.

I'd also much prefer one with the new AMD cpu's as opposed to the 3xxx series.

Either way given the price bracket the loss of OEM windows barely makes an impact....... It's a lappy I'd want but not one I can afford.

See they don't have any shipping costs for the device to South Africa on their site but that is probably because they don't/won't ship here.

Phoronix has an article on it. Looks like Michael is not impressed with the old CPU and prefers his Lenovo Ideapad 5 with the 4700U (guess Linux people are used to installing their own OS).
