So who was fortunate to grab the beta keys for this upcoming RTS? All i can say its going to blow the socks of anything that is currently out there. Made by the same talented folks who brought you Ground Control 1 & 2 the game is visually & tactially excellent, even in its Beta form.

Basically you control either the US or Soviet forces on a map and take a role of the 4 categories available : Air, Support, Armor and Infantry. Each role has its advantages when you buy units, you can purchase units from other role trees but then you pay extra.

Linked control points are scattered on the maps and are vital to get points for reinforcememnts. Yip, no base building which increases the tempo of the game. Combined forces are vital to make inroads into wiping out the enemy which makes the multiplayer 16 player games hectic! :)

ETA is September for this game by the way. ;)

I'm personally looking forward to this game, from Gamespot's screenshots it does look amazing but having said that, I hope when the game comes out, doesn't mean it will be one of those games that 'one has to upgrade to play' :(

If your PC can handle Company of Heroes then it will handle WiC in DX9. DX10 looks to be more effectively implemented in this game from the ground up unlike the CoH DX10 patch. My 8600GTS was able to average 30fps @ 1440x900 on Medium with the game's own benchmark, I am using the Nvidia 163.11 Beta drivers & Vista btw.

Played the beta and it was cool, when it ran...

Keep getting BOOOOMMM! errors when loading up, apparently it's a common problem but no one has a fix :(

When it does play it's great, especially when you nuke someone, though the fuel air bomb looks awesome too :)
