AT&T has twice lowered the price of its DSL service and now offers its 1.5Mbps service for $12.99 for the first year.

Now the telkom orc that reading this... I want you to pay very close attention to this part.....mmmmkay? tell your retarded ranking orc to read this:

The low cost of DSL has kick-started DSL subscription rates, helping DSL providers increase their total customer base by 39 percent in 2005, according to Forrester Research. Verizon alone signed up 613,000 new high-speed Internet subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2005, a record for the company. It continued the strong growth in 2006, having signed up 541,000 new subscribers in the first quarter.

"They plan to address the cost issue by pushing packages of service, which include high-speed Internet access, TV and phone service. For example, Comcast offers a triple-play package for $99 for the first year."

I bet this is deemed expensive there ...

More likely Telkom will be ignoring this, at their own peril.

Those of you who have read the book 'The Lord of the Rings', right at the bitter end where the Dark Lord became aware of Frodo, when Frodo claimed the One Ring, and the Ring was about to be cast into the Cracks of Doom will remember that there was nothing Sauron could do. It could sent its emmissaries in a last desperate race to get the Ring before it was lost forever, but they failed, and everything was lost for the Dark Lord in the end.

There is an old saying "Do not let greed be your downfall".

Same with Telkom. They are blinded by their own greed, and is ignoring the numerous reports, especially the G:enesis report, and the fact that overseas countries are providing cheaper, faster ADSL lines to their customers.

The worm have turned against the system, and there is no stopping it now.

I will be laughing should telkom bring out their tripple-play services which will be slower and more expensive than their competitors... :)

Dont bet on anything soon

Dont bet on any drop soon

I was surprised of the price cuts for 1 Aug but on the other hand the line rental is going up. The only persons actually saving are those on the top like 1024k.

It seems telkom always does a pricing change before going to ICASA
