Worldwide Caliphate Rising?

Yes, we call them the insane, I agree. but the Insane don't go around butchering thousands of people for not believing in the same thing as they do, and then claiming they have an army.

So do you personally fear the Caliphate?

At this present point in time, no I do not directly fear the Caliphate. I do fear what it will do to the world economy though, and I do worry about it spilling over into Africa properly and the **** that will cause.

If you do not at least fear the effects of what IS are attempting to achieve then you are naive.

They cannot achieve a Global Caliphate, so that achievement is moot.

What they are attempting in the middle east is not good - carving out their own country - but really, what difference will one more third world Sharia-law state in that area make? It is the new Somalia, but without a sea for the pirates.

They may not be able to achieve a Global Caliphate, but you seem to want to gloss over the immense chaos and bloodshed that could happen if they try it properly.

One more third world Sharia-Law state? You really have no idea how big IS's goals are do you? The want ALL of the Middle East, ALL of Northern Africa, Spain... that is the size of their initial Caliphate. from there who knows.

Think local, act global. How much do you want to bet that some of the guys trying that has South African passports...
And will bring that mindset back home with them.

Someone snuck a photo out of Mosul showing a guy selling women on the street. I for one will not allow a world where people have a mindset like that.

Not much. Nowhere near their goals, and they will not get that. You think, that the Saudis, for example, will just allow power and wealth to slip from their hands to ISIS? No-one is going to hand over wealth and power to a rag-tag army, no matter how fervent their belief in the religion.

I do not gloss over the pain and suffering that will go into creating their state, but I assure you it will have approximately as much as is currently happening in Iraq anyway. The whole area is a ****-up, I cant see this changing much.

They are welcome to do so. Can you honestly see the Muslim population of South Africa (aside from a tiny minority, perhaps) giving up their comparatively comfortable lifestyle? I doubt it.

Really, which world would that be?

Se moer, my Masonic brothers will stop it anyway.. but its still what IS wants, so its something to plan for.

Masonry is part of our group boet. The Grand Lodge here in South Africa is one of the oldest Masonic lodges worldwide.

Problem is, though - they're not simply trying to 'create a state', as the Kurds are doing. They explicitly want to dominate and subjugate. It's not self-determination, it's domination and expansionism.

Old news, its been 40 years in the making, beginning circa 1979

1979:
April :Iran's government becomes an Islamic Republic by a 98% vote, overthrowing the Shah officially.
July :Iraqi President Hasan al-Bakr resigns and Vice President Saddam Hussein replaces him.
November:Iran hostage crisis begins:
December :The Soviet Union invades Afghanistan, and Babrak Karmal replaces overthrown and executed President Hafizullah Amin, which begins the war.

All the opening pieces in the rise towards the expansion of Muslim Extremism, and the ideology of developing a Caliphate is conceived.

In the western countries ever since, the ideals of democracy and freedom have allowed Muslim extremism to grow and flourish due to the make-up of their ingrained rights, laws and legislations.

There are people of every race and creed who want to conquer the globe - we call them the insane. I do not think that a "Worldwide Caliphate" is likely, or even possible. Granted - they may conquer a portion of the middle east. This is not a "Worldwide Caliphate" by any stretch.

This is fear-mongering, and not even sophisticated fear-mongering.

I'm more interested in why Lightscribe has this overwhelming hatred and fear of Islam - he claims to be an atheist, but I do not see him railing against Christianity or any other religion.

Didn't read it all? It's as global as it gets and is not just about some portion of the ME. It's news and current affairs, not fear mongering. More like a reminder about the dhimmi status imposed upon people around the world, by their cowardly leaders.

I don't have a hatred or even a fear of Islam. I do have an interest in it and inform people about it. I have always had an interest in history, cults, worldviews and ideologies.

When Christianity or any other cult becomes interesting, by hate spewing, intolerance, looting, raping, enslaving and murder, let me know. I'll post about it.

Global. They are recorded saying they will plant the caliphate flag in the White House. Although, as the article mentions, they seem to have already...

It's news and current affairs. Not simply anti-Islam posting. Take the time to read it.

Enuf? Stop coming to the forum, or simply ignore the news and current affairs threads, that you don't want to know.

TBH your posts seem obsessed, and obsessively anti-Islam at that. Your looooong and frequent posts just clutter up the place. Maybe start a thread of your own for Lightscribe's Obsessive Anti-Islam Posts, then it will be simple to ignore.

I'm aware of their ultimate goals. But as a backward, underfunded, ill-trained and badly armed army, how far south of Iraq will they get?

Granted, Iraq and Syria are not the most difficult of armies to defeat. But Saudi Arabia is very comfortable being the major Arab power in the region and is not going to allow ISIS anything.

Turkey is well armed and will get European support, Israel is incredibly well defended and internationally supported.

Even in the best possible case for IS (or whatever their name is now) they will be limited to a very dry, desolate and severely under-populated part of a very third world area.
