Yeap, a 2D version of Worms "reloaded" is coming soon via Steam.

Team 17’s Martyn Brown has tweeted that a new 2D Worms title is heading to PC.

I think they should just re-release Worms Armageddon and World Party, as one game with all content integrated, keep the server support as well as support for matchmaking and user made dedicated servers for when WormNET eventually stops supporting it, and start releasing games with new ideas instead of simply puttin back some of the content they took out a while ago...Well, we will see.
 
I cannot wait, the series lost the plot a bit when they went 3D, I'm glad they are going back to the old skool 2D which defined the series back in the day.
 
3D worms, meh! Crazy fools


All game developers have lost the plot imo.. so many fun 2d games there were.. why do we need 3d? Whyyy
 
Who remembers the good ol' Commander Keen and such? :D
 
I liked Worms Mayhem..
Can renember buying it and playing it online. Was a lot of fun, but the population was really really low.
6 months later they cracked the starforce copy protection and the population increased hundred fold.

There is so much potential with the 3d version and improvements that can be made.
 
WOOT! worms WP was awesome! so happy they going back to 2D, 3D sucked woolly sheep balls!
 
Steam is downloading my copy now. Can't wait to check it out

yea, a 2d one. There is scorched3d and while its fun, its not the same.

They did re-release worms armageddon if I'm not mistaken, still have it on my pc somehwere.

Whats new in this version is a lot of new voices including futurama, some new weapons and new levels I think
 
If they're going back to 2D then I hope they make mobile versions, I want a good worms game on my Android phone.
When I'm at the PC I have modern 3D games to play...
