Worst car you've driven lately?

I would say the Etios as well. The NVH in particular is very poor.

Dash design well documented & horrid.

Doors are tinny as well & seats have poor support. Side bolsters.

To add to my statement, I had a loan 116i 2014 model, was the absolute base spec and I really didn't enjoy it. Rubbish sound system (no infotanment or bluetooth or even steering controls) - engine was really heavy on fuel and quite slow, seats were really uncomfortable, and the steering wheel was designed that you could not see the entire instrument binnacle through it, you either had to choose your speedo, or being able to see the OBC, not both.

Mazda 323
That was light not comfort :)

give older cars more credit :) they were at least built where they are supposed to be built not like now days because of greed and everybody wanting to make more money . So we save money and let India or whoever build our cars. Who cares about the brand. We making money yeh.

I never said it was a bad car at the time it was released (1989-1994 so I was just learning how to walk when it came out).

But in 2017, it is a terrible car, especially when you come from a car with LED headlights to the 323 headlights in 10 minutes.

Definitely the 2015 Suzuki Swift .Driven from Pretoria to Cape Town

Front seats : hard as rocks , uncomfortable and borderline a torture method
Rear seats : Same as the front adding that the rear seats are so high that I cant sit up straight in the rear
Doors : They sound like a tin can when being closed (I was afraid of breaking the doors when closing them)
Media : Sound system is absolute trash .
Engine Power : It doesn't have any power (Don't worry you will become a pro stick shift driver in no time from all the shifting you will be doing) . Also to add if your stuck behind anything good luck getting out.
Suspension : It was apparently the only thing built to last . Hard ass rocks making sure you feel every piece of road
Insulation : Bare min .I had to deal with road noise all the way there

Its a town car, what would you expect driving it long distance?
Not sure if they have changed since 2015 but my wife's 2018 one is actually great little car - in town.

CLA200 that I got as a rental in PE. First time I pulled away I thought the parking brake was still on. That car has the worst combination of small engine and auto-gearbox I've ever driven in. Noisy and annoying as hell, something that Mercedes should never be.

So not the worst car (that would be a 70s beetle with about a 30 degree free-play on the steering wheel. Highway driving was pure terror) but the worst in that it was so unexpectedly terrible to drive.

Toyota corolla late 2000 model 1.4

Comfort and everything is okay. But its a big car and with 4 other people in the car that shìt 1.4 motor is just not enough.

Strang to see the cars normally recommended to buy in other threads all in here.

Renault Stepway. I was very disappointed in the vehicle as a whole. The interior was cheap, the engine was not nearly powerful enough to pull from 2nd gear, even at a yield. Shaky on higher speeds, when you eventually reach >100km/h.

Rented a Toyota Etios on Tuesday (not sure which year or model). I really haven't driven such a POS in a while, everything feels cheap inside there and it has a terrible clutch (although that may have just been because it was an abused rental). The center console is also in the middle of the dash and is very difficult to read the dials, it looks like a supermarket toy department designed it.

The only redeeming quality is that the engine was at least nippy enough.

Honestly don't know how after a test drive in that car anyone would want to buy one new.

No offense to Etios owners, but the car sucks bad :D

Polo vivo, everything is basically old crap from other cars, at-least it had bluetooth.

Have not driven etoss or datsun go yet.

Another vote for the Etios. Terrible handling, feels like a very thin can. Was actually grateful when they gave me a Vivo instead. At least that didn't feel like it would fall apart if you went above 80km/h :o

I would say the Etios as well. The NVH in particular is very poor.

Have to agree with the above. First place for me would be the Etios, had it as a rental. Horrible car, noisy engine, lots of wind noise. Feels tinny. Vivo has hard plastics, but feel better put together, but I could never live with it. It feels as if the engine is sitting on the seat next to you at anything over 100km/h. And it's not that light on fuel either.

Toyota Tazz

Never owned one but drove a lot of friends ones, it is a very fun car to drive.

I hate the Polo Vivo - when I get rentals I will go for every other car first before going for this, normal get the i20s as rental which is a decent car.

Datsun Go, mostly Chinese and Indian brands

I've been given an etios while my focus is busy getting some electrical stuff fixed. It's worse than I remember. What a miserable little contraption and the clutch is a nightmare, there's about 3 cm of travel from the floor and as the clutch comes off the floor it bites hard and you stall.... I went to turn the air off and the knob came off in my hand. This thing is brand new :|

Etios is not too bad, I've driven loads of rentals that's worse. I would probably rate it as 3rd place loser.

I10 & Datsun Go being nr2 & nr1 respectively.

The finishes on the Etios are horrendous (not as bad as the Datsun tho) but at least it has some vooma (compared to the i10). The Datsun had paint peeling on the roof with less than 10 000km on the clock

Previous Polo Vivo. Hated the clutch. Interior feels over 10 years old.

Toyota Etios, AurisX, Corolla Quest. Worst rentals
Honda BR-V. Loan car from Honda. What a POS.
Nissan Tiida. This takes the cake. Ugly, unrefinded.
