gearbox "specialists" yeah R13k later since december last year, the car's been back and forward with them, went back yesterday so they could have it "fixed" today and still waiting with another excuse from the "manager".
Had my auto gearbox (the Peugeot I had some time ago) rebuilt there, after it had been damaged in an accident. The rebuild cost R25'000 then. A new gearbox would be substantially more.
They also somehow managed to break my exhaust, and replace it with some inferior exhaust probably made for a scooter. They didn't tell us about this. We ended up having a new exhaust fitted (the noise was unbearable).
The gearbox was fine for six months, then resumed hitting limp-mode (locks into third gear) more and more often, over the past two years. Well the gearbox has to be replaced now. Luckily I sold the car so it's not my problem anymore.
Hopefully they'll fix it properly this time and I won't have to go back there again. They have an AA assured thingy posted all over the shop, I guess that doesn't count for much these days.
Well the issue I had was in 2006/2007.... and now you come up with the same problem 5 years later.... and yes, they were AA assured last time too.... so much for that.
OMG. Today the car's been to another mechanic to do brakes and new clutch cable.. Now there's a massive problem replacing the cable, whole gearbox has to come out to fix some stuff up that mayfair didn't do correctly. I'm so ****ing pissed off with this ******* company.
