So, this morning I woke up with the thought of what must be the worse way to die, and climbing Mount Everest almost immediately came to mind.

Surely, for me, there's no worse way to go than spending months, even years, preparing, using an abundance of resources only to climb a mountain and then fail in doing so. I don't see how climbing Everest would add value to my life nor to society nor how it benefits humans and the rest of the world in general. Seems to be an highly selfish endeavour, but that is just my opinion.

It reminds me of Sisyphus rolling a boulder up a hill: what is the point?

I'd rather die fulfilling my calling in life, doing something I love, or being with those I love.

What would you guys say are the worse way to go (for you)?

Ps. Climbing mountains is not my thing, so if it is your thing, then apologies for knocking it.

I figure not doing something you love and just going at random from a heart attack, stroke whatever.

If climbing Everest is something you've always dreamed of doing and that's the way you die I figure that's a pretty good way to go. Inversely if you aren't so keen on climbing Mount Everest you probably wouldn't be there anyway.

Also don't discredit the huge inspiration it can be to others doing something like climbing a mountain. Sure the act in and of itself doesn't mean all that much but knowing people who have climbed the tallest mountains in the world and been to Antarctica and such I can tell you that listening to their stories really encourages you to do the things you love as well, even if they are completely different.

Hearing someone tell you about their struggles to achieve one of their life goals is really inspirational in reminding you that it's also possible for you to accomplish such things instead of just living a mundane existence.

Just watch a 1000 ways to die on sony max there is a lot of ways I don't want to die.

I think having that horrible gadget from the TV series, the Borgias, where King Charles of France has Prince Alfonso tortured, shoved up your butt hole is a pretty grim way to die.

I don't think you can really ask what is the worst way to do die. Every way it happens is the worst way for the person it's happening to.

I'd prefer to drown, than die by fire. Drowning is even preferable to the anticipation of the splat when you fall from heights.

The worst way to die, is any way that involves prolonged suffering. Kill me quick.
