Worth getting my K750 fixed?

With the scratches it has, what do you people think the phone would be worth as is?

Comes with a 1GB Sony memory card, and all the accessories it came with and its original box. :)
 
A genuine SE K750i housing is around R100 trade plus a keypad at around R30. There are (as I recall) a couple bits that you do not get, although listed as a complete housing! I think one is the memory card cover. Not sure if my supplier still has the housings in stock, I tried for a T610 a month ago and they are no longer available? I only have the face in stock. If you can find a genuine independent dealer the job shouldn't cost more than R250 or R300 with a new generic battery thrown in!

Don't be tempted to get a generic cover fitted, to give you a clue of the level of quality they are R8 plus VAT trade. I only order these in for the battery cover and then dump the rest in the bin. Even the R15 kids toy phones will look like a N95 compared to a K850i with one of these generic covers fitted! Plus you'll lose a friend for sure! :D

Value scratched but 100% working circa R500 - 600 with a 1GB card. Remember its GPRS and although MXit runs on it, its very s-l-o-w!

R300 to repair with a new battery is not bad at all.

But where to find someone to do this in CT? Someone reputable..
 
I don't have any contacts in the trade (other than one supplier) in Cape Town. Let me check out if the cover is still available (usually black or silver) and I'll let you know on Monday. I'm only just 26km from Riversdale and you could send up to me using Pony Express, I mean Speed Services! Overnight takes 48 hours here!

I'll keep my ears to the ground here in case I find anything similar but so far, nothing.
 
Just re-checked my stock and I have a black front (with lens) and black keypad. No idea why I ended up with just these? So at worst I can guarantee half a job - just don't turn it round! :p

Hehe, interesting. Really need the slidey lens cover thing as well to be replaced. It has a lot of scratches on :(
 
If I were to fix up the thing, so it would have a brand new body, perfect screen, new battery and all the original accessories, what do you think I could get for it? It comes with a 1GB memory card as well. :)
 
I'd guess around R600 - It does not command a high price mainly because its GPRS only, most other phones this age had EDGE.

Sadly, my supplier hasn't stock of the housing I had to let them take it off reserve on Friday.

No worries man. I was gonna mission out some day soon around CT to see if anyone could do what you offered, but I guess unless I plan to give the phone away it's not really worth my while..
