Hi all,

So MWeb broke my heart today, stating that they would be shutting down their usenet service.
So I'm thinking of jumping ship and going for a capped package with after hours data for my downloads.

My setup and use:
4mb uncapped MWeb standard package - R449
I download just under 100gigs per month, mainly usenet and some torrents.

I have been considering the following packages from several ISP,
Afrihost: 50gig + 50gig - R458
Webafrica: 60gig + 60gig - R449
Axxess: (Uncapped) - R499

Do the above ISP's offer usenet services?

Nah nah nah nah none of this peasant tier ISP stuff.

www.crystalweb.co.za

This is where all the cool kids are at. Comes with premium news server access that beats almost every paid service out there.
With that usage you'll probably be unshaped the whole time on CW because they allow a certain unshaped portion before shaping (and very smart shaping at that) starts to kick in.

Check my signature, if you decide to sign up use my code maybe?

Another vote for CrystalWeb - You won't look back when all the nitty-gritty minor issues are sorted out.

Support = 100%
Routing = local+Int = 99.99%

You won't look back again>>^^

:D

Yea no, like rental should really be kept with hellkom

Yeah, a bit pricey still. He isn't looking at spending more than R500 in total and does not require uncapped. He hardly uses 100GB, sooo...

Perhaps consider a Vox fatpipe + line with Telkom?

The capped deal at Afrihost is decent for R449 all in. My mate is on that after moving off TI. He's quite happy with it. Good value for capped.

Vox in probably the best value on terms of capped right now. That fatpipe tho

A noob question, whats the hype around fatpipe? is it the roll over?

That doesn't include ADSL line rental, does it ?

R429 just for data. and another 275 for rental.
