AFAIK, the Alpha is only allowed to Blizzard Friends and Family...(they get keys)

We get the beta, so no point getting this?

LOL at least things are looking up. You can always get it and then find a emulator if you just wanna look around the new land. I personally wont bother with a 2.6gb download, I will wait for beta.

You know what pissed me off though, Doing areana every week saving up those points for a vengeful piece will be worthless once patch comes out. And not to mention that you will problery loose all arena/honor points when new patch is out. They releasing the S4 Brutal glad gear, just to release a expansion a couple of months later. There are gonna be lvl 70-80 blues and greens which will own our hard earned arena gear.

Apparently, t6 will get you to about 76-77 before replacing. Blizz has said theres not gonna be another monster stat increase as TBC had.

Through some of the interviews of Blizzard it is said that there will not be as huge stat jump as we had in TBC, so gear obtained now will last much longer, and will not be replaced with blues at level 71. How this will hold water we can just wait and see.

5 man BT, I guess this will not be an option soon :P
rather 3-5 man Kara etc.
 
There is indeed a spell in the Alpha files which says, "Summon your rideable Frost Wyrm. This is a very fast mount".

Interestingly, while it clearly refers to a flying mount, the current description is not tagged with a "This mount can only be used in Outlands[ and Northrend]" like current ones. I remember reading somewhere that the new mounts will be usable in Azeroth (as land mounts I'd imagine, not as flying) so maybe that's what this means.
 
I noticed a "Black Warp Stalker Mount" in the alpha notes.

Meh, thought what was in TBC stayed in TBC :rolleyes:

True Pleo, with WOTLK bringing 'passenger' mounts, they will be used in Azeroth. So yes all you little alts, in WOTLK your 80 friend can give you a lift on his/her mount!

Hope you get the option to dismount them lol, fly a lvl 58 over to the Doomwalker and boot him off your mount :)
 
not to mention all the PVE gear that we have worked so hard for :(


when is beta being released? anyone know?
 
Pffft this will be the second time my Imba PvE gear becomes just another bank slot.
When I log my old Rogue I get to look at what used to be awesome Raiding gear.
 
Quick Tip: Start pumping your dailies, go into WOTLK with a kuk load of g. New mounts are gonna cost. Start saving your badges, maybe you can hand them in for lvl80 epics. Start collecting trade goods your trade skills are gonna cap at 450 now. It would also be a good idea to maybe sell your primals before expansion cause as with last expansion, Essence of fire, etc droped drastically in price.

No point collecting trade goods, since we dont know what will be needed... Take Pre-tbc with TBC, everyone stacked cloth/ore/herbs... and when released, none of it was useful.
 
Note that
-Current badges will *not* be redeemable for 'badge loot' from wrath. There's no way they'll let that happen. It would be like being able to farm 'heroic Stratholme' now for badges. They will introduce a different set of tokens.

-Tradeskills will use entirely new herbs, metals etc. Much like TBC introduced Felweed/Dreaming Glory/Netherbloom/Nightmare Vine/Fel Lotus for alchemists. BC 'mats' will become redundant.

-Gold will 'mudflate' in Wrath much like it did in TBC. Killing yourself to save a couple grand now will be pointless if you start selling vendor trash in Northrend for 20g a stack and farm 1K gold in a couple hours of questing (much like farming dailies now can net you 250+ gold in a couple hours, pre-BC it would take you a week...).

In short don't waste your time farming now. However, *do* focus on experiencing what BC content you can before Wrath lands because when it does Outland and it's raids will become a ghost town, existing solely as a quest hub for new Deathknights and the occasional reroller to blitz through on their way to Northrend.
