Would-be Hijacker killed in PTA

A would-be hijacker has been shot dead in Wierdabrug, Centurion, police said on Wednesday.

The incident happened on Tuesday when a member of the Wierdabrug community policing forum (CPF) was about to open the gate to his house, said Warrant Officer Wanda Olivier.

He noticed a car with no licence plates behind him. The man drew his firearm, anticipating that the car occupants intended accosting him.

"The [attacker] jumped out from the right back door of the vehicle with a Vektor firearm pointed at the complainant," said Olivier.

The CPF member fired two shots at his would-be attacker, who died on the scene. His accomplice behind the wheel sped off.

Police were alerted and determined that the would-be hijacker was from Tembisa on the East Rand.

An inquest docket had been opened, Olivier said.

As I understand it they only prototype in limited quantity. Potentially that CPF member just gunned down a member of our 'esteemed' military.
